The Karnataka Government has requested for a loan of $700 million (approx Rs 3,360 crore) from the World Bank (WB) for three new projects.
The three new projects are Karnataka State Highway Improvement Project –II, Karnataka Watershed Development Project (II) and Karnataka Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Project (II).
The state government has also urged the WB to release a pending loan amount of $475 million (approx Rs 2,380 crore) for early implementation of six ongoing projects in the state.
The six projects that are awaiting WB loan are Karnataka Municipal Reforms, Karnataka Urban Water Sector Improvement, Karnataka Community Based Tank Management, Karnataka Rural Water Supply and Sanitation, Karnataka Health System Development and Reform and Karnataka Panchayats Strengthening Project.
