Sterling Infotech Group is likely to lease an island in Seychelles for 99 years to develop an integrated mega township and tourism project. Currently, the company is holding talks with the Seychelles Government.
The proposed project is expected to be developed on Coetivy Island spread over 930 ha. It will include villas, condominiums, hotels and leisure facilities. However, investment details for the project are yet to be finalised.
The Seychelles Government has reportedly invited EoIs from companies to take the island on lease as part of its policy to develop the islands as land is limited. At present, the government is going through a detailed analysis of islands and classifying them for various functions, such as, tourism, agriculture and fisheries.
