Sri Lankan Holidays unveils MICE packages for Indian tour operators and corporate sector

Sri Lanka Convention Bureau, in association with SriLankan Airlines and MICE industry of Sri Lanka launched ‘Meet in Sri Lanka Campaign’ at a recently held press meet in the capital to promote MICE facilities in Sri Lanka. The press meet was attended by 15 industry partners from Sri Lanka including Destination Management Companies (DMC); Professional Conference, Exhibition & Event Organisers (PCO); hotels; Conference and Exhibition Centres (CEC) and MICE operators from Sri Lanka. At the meet, Sri Lankan Holidays, the tour division of SriLankan Airlines unveiled three MICE packages for tour operators and corporate sector in India. Sri Lanka Tourism Tourism will organise four-city road shows in next month in New Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru and Ahmedabad to promote Sri Lanka as tourist destination.

Revealing details about the MICE packages, Amit Sumanapala, General Manager- Sri Lankan Holidays & MICE said, “Our focus is to target corporate travellers from India. All the MICE packages include flight tickets, hotel accommodation, conference and meeting facility, airport transfers, pre and post meeting tours and complimentary half day conference et al.” He further added it is the right time to organise meetings in Sri Lanka since the country has diverse range of tourism products and Visa-On-Arrival facility to encourage MICE traffic from India. The packages are: Meet on the Beach, which provides the option to choose destinations such as Negombo or Bentota; Meet in the City, which covers Colombo as a meeting destination and Meet in the Hills that covers destinations such as Colombo and Kandy. The package duration varies from two nights/ three days to three nights/ four days. The price of packages ranges from Rs 14699 to Rs 15499.

Talking about promotion of the MICE packages, Tharaka Galahitiyawa, Sales Manager – Northern India, West Bengal, Bangladesh and Nepal, Sri Lankan Airlines said, “We will target MICE tour operators and corporate travellers from Mumbai, Bengaluru and New Delhi. We will conduct the promotion through product presentation and road shows which will be organised soon.”
