Kuoni Academy of Travel (KAT) has tied-up with Dibrugarh University, Assam and IMI University Centre Switzerland to offer Undergraduate diploma and Master’s programme in travel and hospitality from this academic year starting next month. With this tie-up, KAT will offer four skill-oriented certificate programmes which include: Air Ticketing; Airline In-flight Services; Travel Agency Operations and Tour Guiding Skills. According to Kapil Srivastava, Regional Head – North & East, KAT, students aspiring for the Dibrugarh University certificates, in additional to KAT certificates can obtain them by paying an extra university registration fee. The IMI University Centre Switzerland will offer MBA in Travel & Tourism Management.
Srivastava added that KAT has also become the ‘delivery partner’ for travel related programmes for Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU). Admissions to these courses are twice a year as per IGNOU admission cycle. For the hospitality segment, KAT has tied up with Institute of Hotel Management, Aurangabad and will offer undergraduate and postgraduate diploma programmes in hospitality management. This will include specialised programmes in hotel operation, including Front Office Management, F&B and Housekeeping. Srivastava informed that the one year programmes will focus on management and skill while the six months programmes will be skill-development programmes. In order to improve communication skills of the students undergoing travel and hospitality courses at KAT, the academy has incorporated ‘Liqvid’, language training programme into their curriculum.
