Aircel, GSM telecom player is likely to invest Rs 2,000 crore in Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand by end-December 2009. The company has launched its services in the two states on 1 April 2009.
Aircel has already invested Rs 750 crore in setting up necessary infrastructure ---where (in India/UP??). The telecom player has set up 1,500 cell sites in Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand, which will be increased up to 2,500 in the near future.
Presently, Aircel services are available in 160 towns and 2,735 villages across these two states and by June 2009, the services are likely to extend to 400 towns and 9,000 villages.
