Tata Steel to get land in Bastar for steel plant soon

Tata Steel is expected to receive land for its proposed greenfield integrated steel plant in Bastar region by July 2009. The Chhattisgarh State Industrial Development Corporation (CSIDC) is expected soon to start the demarcation process on the land handed over to it by the Bastar district administration.

The company is setting up a five million mtpa steel plant in Lohandiguda block of Bastar district which is likely to come up on 2160.58 ha of land covering ten villages.

Tata Steel is expected to pay 10 per cent of the total land cost to the CSIDC as commission for the land before the latter start the demarcation process.
