Pre-engineered steel building manufacturer Phenix Varco Pruden is constructing the paint shop building for Tata's Nano project in Sanand, Gujarat, a company release said. "We are going to be supplying approximately 4,000 tonnes of steel components for this facility,” Malav Patel, Managing Director, said. “The complexity is in the function of the building, which calls for multiple mezzanine floors, a heavy load bearing capacity of the mainframe structure and a height of approximately 25m."
Apart from the paint shop, PVP will also install 35 ancillary buildings, a combination of different sizes, thus covering a total area of 65,000 sq. metres. “The total value of the order is around Rs 50 crore, and we target to complete it in totality by end of March 2009." Patel added.
PVP is a collaboration between Varco Pruden Buildings Inc., USA, and Ahmedabad-based M&B Engineering Pvt. Ltd.
