Mundra Port & SEZ bags Mormugao Port order

Mundra Port & SEZ has won the bid for the development of coal handling terminal at Mormugao Port in Goa, on DBFOT basis.

The scope of the order envisages development and operating a berth at the port to handle about 6.5 million tonne of cargo and would handle 5 million tonne in the first year itself. It will have a concession period of 30 years in accordance with a Concession Agreement to be executed between Mundra Port led consortium and Mormugao Port Trust.

The terminal at Mormugao is scheduled to commence operations in financial year 2012 and is proposed to be funded by internal accruals and debt.
