The Board of Approval (BoA) has allowed Hyderabad based Maytas Ventures to surrender its biotech SEZ situated in Gudlapochampally in Hyderabad, provided the company refunds the Rs 31 lakh service tax exemption.
The BoA also deferred a decision on a request from Mukesh Ambani-promoted Reliance Haryana SEZ seeking more time to complete the multi-product zone at Gurgaon. It may be noted that the developers have already been given extension twice.
The BoA deferred the requests of L&T, Cochin International Airport and Deccan Infrastructure & Land Holdings for setting up SEZs.
Meanwhile, the board has given its approval for three new proposals including that of Brooke Bond Real Estates IT/ITES tax-free enclave in Karnataka.
