Dunkin' Brands has officially opened its 15000th store worldwide in Raleigh, NC, US and to honour this milestone the company is thanking customers for more than 60 years of support with special celebrations in select cities throughout the world. Dunkin' Brands is the parent company Dunkin' Donuts and Baskin-Robbins.
To commemorate the opening of the 15000th store, a Dunkin' Donuts and Baskin-Robbins Express located at 8710 Glenwood Avenue in Raleigh, Nigel Travis, CEO, Dunkin' Brands; Will Kussell, President and Chief Brand Officer, Dunkin' Donuts and Srinivas Kumar, Chief Brand Officer, Baskin-Robbins will serve customers donuts, coffee and soft-serve ice cream for the special price of 15 cents. At a special ceremony today at 3 pm ET, the company will also announce a donation to support Homes for Our Troops, a non-profit organisation that is building a specially adapted home for a severely injured veteran in Fayetteville, North Carolina. Dunkin' Brands will also donate 1500 pounds of Dunkin' Donuts coffee to Give2TheTroops, a non-profit organisation that sends care packages to deployed troops.
As part of the ceremony at the 15000th store, Greg Biffle, NASCAR Sprint Cup driver and Tom O'Brien, NC State head football coach will also be on hand to personally serve customers, beginning at approximately 3:15 pm ET. Biffle will surprise two customers, one each at the counter and drive-thru, with 15 months worth of coffee and ice cream.
In a nod to both Dunkin' Donuts' and Baskin-Robbins' roots and future, the very first US Dunkin' Donuts store at 543 Southern Artery in Quincy, Massachusetts will commemorate this occasion by selling coffee and donuts for 15 cents from three to five pm. At the same time, the new Baskin-Robbins Cafe 31 at Patriot Place in Foxborough, Massachusetts will offer soft-serve ice cream cones for 15 cents from three to five pm. A total of 15 Dunkin' Donuts and Baskin-Robbins stores opening on June 15 in eight countries will celebrate this milestone with special offers beginning at three pm local time.
