Bengal Peerless Housing Development Company proposes to develop a residential-cum-commercial project in three phases near the Eastern Metropolitan Bypass in Kolkata. The project is expected to entail an investment of Rs 400 crore.
Bengal Peerless is a JV company in which West Bengal Housing Board and Peerless General Finance and Investment Company hold 49.5 per cent stake each while the balance one per cent is held by promoters and State Government nominees.
The project, to come up on 15 acre near Ruby Hospital is likely to have 1,600 flats with a total residential area of 10-11 lakh sq ft and about 3.5 lakh sq ft. of commercial and office space. Half the residential units will be for the high-income group, and the rest for middle and low-income groups.
The company has acquired land for the project which is presently in the designing and planning stage. The entire project is expected to be completed in seven years time.
