Delhi Metro has started the trial run of the first train procured for Phase-II on the main line. The trial run was carried out between Dwarka Sector nine and Dwarka stations during the early hours on 22 May 2009. Recently, this broad gauge train was airlifted to India from Germany.

The train has several special features such as CCTVs inside and outside the coaches and power supply points for charging mobile phones and laptops. The train is expected to be inducted soon into operations on Yamuna Bank-Dwarka Sector nine, which has witnessed a 4.4 per cent rise in commuters since the opening of the Yamuna Bank station on 10 May 2009.

Another broad-gauge train for Phase-II would be imported from Germany in May / June 2009. A third train has arrived in Mundra port in Gujarat by ship from Germany and is being brought by road to Delhi while the fourth train is expected to arrive at Mundra by end-may 2009.
