According to a PTI report, food offered in Rajdhani and Shatabdi trains will not be outsourced anymore. Union Railway Minister, Mamata Banerjee made the announcement during a debate in the Rajya Sabha recently.
Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation Ltd (IRCTC) will now deliver foods in those trains. Janata food for passengers will be introduced soon. The Minister admitted that quality of drinking water, passenger amenities, on-board food service have deteriorated.
