Patel Engineering is likely to complete land acquisition for its two power projects in Tamil Nadu and Arunachal Pradesh shortly.
The company has acquired five acre for the 120 MW Gongri hydropower project in Arunachal Pradesh and currently is in the final process to complete the land acquisition. Besides, the company requires 20 acre for the 1,000 (2x500) MW thermal power project at Nagapattinam in Tamil Nadu which will be acquired by September 2009.
The Gongri project is estimated to cost Rs 800 crore and while the Nagapattinam project is worth Rs 5,500 crore. The company plans to spend Rs 25 crore each on the projects during this fiscal.
Meanwhile, the DPRs for both the projects are being finalised and slated to be commissioned by 2013.
