Jeypore Sugar plans sugar crushing plant in Andhra Pradesh

Chennai based Jeypore Sugar Company is setting up a sugarcane crushing unit at Pothavaram in West Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh at an investment of Rs 200 crore.

The 5,000 tccpd plant is likely to go on stream by early 2010. While the ancillary systems are being put up, the company has already completed plant and machinery erection.

This apart, the company aims to crush 700,000 tonne of cane in the current fiscal at its Chagallu plant, in Andhra Pradesh. The overall capacity of this plant is 8,500 tccpd.

Meanwhile, its 16.8 MW coal based cogeneration plant at Pothavaram has commenced power generatrion. The power generated is likely to be sold to the Andhra Pradesh Electricity Regulatory Commission.
