The Clinton Foundation has entered into a deal with the Rajasthan Government to set up solar parks in the state.

The state government has identified Badi Sid and Kansingh Ki Sid in Jodhpur and Bhadla in Jaisalmer for developing these parks. Each solar park is likely to serve as a concentrated zone of solar development in Rajasthan and will included 3,000-5,000 MW of solar generation as well as manufacturing over a period of time.

According to sources, the Clinton Climate Initiative is to provide technical and other support to develop these parks. The project envisages an integrated solar city wherein all the raw materials including glass and panels will be produced by them, bringing down the cost substantially.
