The Central Electricity Regulatory Commission (CERC) will soon issue an order on a petition filed by the North East Transmission Company (NETC) seeking transmission licence.
The company has moved to CERC for granting of transmission licence for construction, operation and maintenance of transmission lines from Palatana power plant to Bongaigaon. The transmission project comprises 400 kV D/C Palatana-Silchar D/C transmission line (twin moose) of 250 km and 400 kV Silchar-Bongaigaon D/C transmission line (twin moose) of 400 km.
NETC, a JV promoted by PGCIL, ONGC Tripura Power Company and northeastern states, is investing Rs 2,000 crore to lay a transmission network for the evacuation of power from the ONGC's 740 MW gas-based power project from Tripura.
