Otsuka commences production at Rajasthan bulk drug facility

Otsuka Chemical India ( OCIL ), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Japanese company Ostuka Chemical Co has commencement production of its bulk drug intermediate manufacturing unit built near Kotputli in Jaipur district of Rajasthan, at a cost of Rs.150 crore.

The facility will undertake manufacturing of GCLE, an advance cephalosporin antibiotic intermediate. It will have an initial production capacity of 300 tpa and slated to reach 500 tpa in two to three years.

The plant will operate on full automation, controlled by most advanced DCS system supplied by Yokogawa Japan.
