IOL Chemicals and Pharmaceuticals (IOLCP) plans to invest about Rs 216 crore in expanding its manufacturing capacity to tap global opportunities in the pharmaceutical market.
IOLCP has recently boosted its Ibuprofen plant capacity from 1,800 to 3,600 tablets per annum. The company further aims to expand the capacity to manufacture 6,000 tablets per annum to cater to the new geographical markets abroad.
IOLCP is also constructing a new captive co-generation plant with additional capacity of 13 MW in addition to the existing 4 MW co-generation plant. The plant is slated to be commissioned by December 2010 and will generate a total of 17MW of power for exclusive consumption by the company's manufacturing facilities.
