Commencement of work on the 220 kV line from Orissa Power Transmission Corporation Limited's Paradip grid sub-station to the proposed petroleum refinery premises of IOC has been delayed.

Though the work was awarded to Kolkata-based Everest Engineering House in September 2008, selection of the electrical contractors not having the requisite experience has inordinately delayed the work.

Since the construction of the transmission line is crucial for supply of power to the refinery project, the delay is likely to disturb the schedule of commissioning the oil refinery, which is slated for 2012.
