Oil India Ltd (OIL) is holding talks with domestic companies to form a JV to bid for oil, LPG and natural gas pipeline projects in both the domestic and international markets.
Earlier, OIL was likely to float a new subsidiary to look after such projects. The company has an agreement with OVL to form a JV for construction of a product pipeline in Sudan, under a contract from the Sudanese Government.
Besides, OIL is holding talks with three to four overseas companies to acquire overseas oil and gas assets.
Also, OIL is likely to start drilling operations of its first well at its Libyan oil & gas block by October 2009. It is likely to invest Rs 50 crore in the block. OIL and Indian Oil Corporation holds 50 per cent each in the block.
