IOC LPG terminal in Kochi to be operational in 2011

The LPG import terminal being set up by Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) is slated to be completed in 2011. The total outlay for the terminal is Rs 170 crore.

The new terminal is coming up in 15 ha in the port-based SEZ at Puthuvypeen. The terminal is expected to have a capacity of six lakh tpa which is more than the current demand in Kerala ruling at 5.5 lakh tpa.

IOC has a LPG terminal at Kandla in Gujarat. In the eastern coast it runs a LPG terminal in association with Petronas at Haldia (West Bengal) and the same JV is also setting up another terminal at Ennore (Tamil Nadu).
