Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Ltd (RINL) has entered into a JV agreement with Manganese Ore India and has formed a JV company RINMOIL Ferro-Alloys to manufacture ferro-alloys. The two partners will have equal stakes in the JV company which was incorporated on 29 July 2009.
The bhoomi puja is likely to be performed soon at Bobbili in Vizianagaram district on 100 acre acquired from the Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure.
RINMOIL Ferro-Alloys shall initially install and commission one 27 MVA and 9 MVA furnaces based on the feasibility report prepared by Mecon. The RINL which is currently implementing a project to raise steel-making capacity to 6.3 million tonne is expected to require nearly 70,000 tonne of silico manganese, another 15,000 tonne of ferro silicon annually, after the expansion and 2,000 tpa of ferro manganese after the completion of the expansion project.
