Chinalco plans to build copper plant in Yunnan

Aluminum Corp of China Chinalco is planning to invest CNY 2 billion to build its largest copper processing plant in the southwestern Yunnan province.

The proposed plant will have capacity to produce 1 lakh tpa of plates and 2 lakh tpa of wires and rods.

Chinalco has three copper-processing plants in Luoyang city of Henan province, Shanghai and Daye city of Hubei province with a combined capacity of 3,50,000 tpa of plates or 28 per cent of China's total.
