AGI Glasspac to start operations in Nalgonda plant by February 2009

AGI Glasspac, the glass division of Hindustan Sanitaryware & Industries plans to commission the first furnace in its glass manufacturing plant at Bhongir, in Nalgonda district by February 2009.

The proposed plant, which is spread over 75 acres of land, intends to have three furnaces. The company will be investing Rs.1,000 crore and in the first phase, it is investing Rs.230 crore. The new furnace will have a capacity of 425 tpd and as per the long-term plan of the company, it is expected to reach a capacity of 1,500 tpd in the next five years.
