Kenya’s Agriculture Minister, William Ruto has given Kwale International Sugar Company a one-month ultimatum to show progress in a proposed sugarcane project in Msambweni District in Kenya. The cost of the project is estimated at Kenyan shilling  21 billion.

Also the Government will support them only if the company showed commitment to the project, other wise they shall look for another investor , said Ruto, who was accompanied by the Tourism Minister Najib Balaala.

But Kwale International Sugar Company , Senior Manager , Harshil Kotecha said the firm was committed to the project and would comply with the ministerial directive.
