Tamil Nadu Newsprint and Papers Ltd (TNPL) proposes to invest Rs 876 crore over the next three years for meeting its capex, supporting ongoing projects and to repay loan.
TNPL is currently implementing a Rs 1,000-crore expansion plan at its Kagithapuram factory in Karur district of Tamil Nadu. Under the expansion, a paper machine of a 1,55,000 tpa is to be installed to increase the production capacity from the current 2,00,000 to 4,00,000 tpa. The pulp mill capacity will be increased to 880 tpd.
The company is also setting up a cement plant at a cost of Rs 50-60 crore. It will have a capacity of 500 tpd and is expected to go on stream by June 2011.
