The Tamil Nadu Government has taken up various projects under the PPP mode.
According to sources, 26 projects have been executed through the PPP mode in the state with a total investment of Rs 9,948 crore.
Four projects, which are likely to commence shortly include a Rs 500 crore 100 mld desalination plant, an effluent treatment plant (ETP) for dyeing units at Tirupur worth Rs 420 crore, IT corridor worth Rs 205 crore and an ETP for a leather cluster at Ambur worth Rs 85 crore.
The Chennai Metropolitan Development Authority has identified PPP projects like a Rs 475 crore redevelopment of Omni bus stand at Koyambedu in Chennai and development of airspace over MRTS railhead involving Rs 136 crore.
So far three road projects worth Rs 190 crore have been completed and one project worth Rs 205 crore is under execution. Four urban infrastructure projects worth Rs 1,109 crore have been completed and one project worth Rs 500 crore was currently being executed.
