Stone laid for the Parliament House Annexe extension

Foundation stone for the extension of Parliament House Annexe Building was laid on 05 May 2009.

The Rs 262 crore new building will cater to the needs of Committee Rooms, Office Rooms of Chairmen and other space requirements of the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha Secretariats. The building will have two blocks, Block A , a low rise block with ground plus two floors, will have eight Committee Rooms and Seminar Hall and Block B, a high rise block will have Ground plus seven floors office space. The building will also have a multi-level basement for parking and services, easy access for differently-abled persons, seminar hall of 200 capacity.

The building has been designed by the Architectural Wing of Central Public Works Department. The extension project is expected to be completed within 36 months from the date of commencement of work.
