12% spurt in fluorescent tube prices |

The WPI of fluorescent tubes spurted 12% during the week ended November 8. GLS lamps (4%), bicycles (2%) and ferromanganese (1%) were the other merchandise whose prices went up over the week. However, the prices of bright bars (7%), zinc ingots (3%) and lead ingots and bars and rods (2% each) declined.
The project cost escalation, as measured by ERIL Index of Cost of Project Inputs, worked out to 1.2 per cent by November 8, less than a half of 2.8 per cent in the corresponding period of the previous fiscal year.
