ZF India formally inaugurated its new manufacturing plant in India on January 14. Located at Nanekarwadi near Pune, Maharashtra, this plant is ZF Group's first whollyowned manufacturing facility in India. The plant measuring 2,500 sq. metres will be dedicated to ZF's Off Road division. The infrastructure was created to address the demands of the growing construction equipment market in India.

Speaking on the occasion, Hans Georg Haerter, Chairman and CEO, ZF Friedrichshafen AG said, "ZF group has a presence in India for close to three decades through, joint venture manufacturing facilities for steering components, chassis & suspension parts. We are proud to inaugurate our first wholly owned plant in India, which will cater to ZF's Off Road division."

Klaus Sicker Vice President & Head Off-Road Division, ZF India said, "The inauguration of the plant marks the launch of the rear axle for the backhoe loader application. There is a strong focus on localisation of parts with vendors in order to give the cost advantage to the customers. Our Indian production portfolio will soon be followed by full power shift transmissions for backhoe loader and other products important to India's offroad market."

ZF also formally inaugurated its service operations in India, to address the after market requirements of the country. ZF has established its company-owned service stations in Pune, Raipur, Bangalore, while Delhi is represented through a service partner. These centres will ensure quickest possible response to field concerns and after market sales.
