Essar Shipping Ports & Logistics is planning a capital expenditure programme of Rs.10,000 crore in the next three years.
The expansion projects include acquisition of 14 ships to increase its capacity from the present 1.30 million DWT to 2.69 million DWT by 2011, setting up of a 30 million tpa all-weather deep draft port at Hazira and procurement of two jack-up rigs. The company will also be increasing its Vadinar oil terminal capacity from 10.50 million tpa to 34 million tpa by July 2010 at a cost of Rs.2,816 crore.
