National Bank for Agriculture & Rural Development has sanctioned Rs.162.11 crore for Haryana, while an amount of Rs.120.51 crore has been approved for Punjab under Rural Infrastructure Development Fund (RIDF)-XIV.
NABARD approved Rs.149.54 crore for 61 irrigation schemes and Rs.12.57 crore for 38 rural bridges in Haryana, under RIDF. The project aims at better water management and increased intensity of irrigation and drainage works involving 53 minor and 08 medium schemes in 14 districts. The project will be implemented by Haryana Irrigation Department and will be completed by March 2011.
For Punjab, NABARD has sanctioned an amount of Rs.120.51 crore for project for lining of 4,500 km length of water courses and construction of field channels falling under the command of Sirhind Feeder Canal System. The total cost of the project is Rs.405.58 crore, of which NABARD's RIDF assistance will be Rs.120.51 crore.
The project will be implemented by the Punjab Water Resource Management & Department Corporation and the state government. The project will be completed by March 2011 |
