Accor, Interglobe, Bird Group, Lemon Tree Hotels and Saraf Hotels which had won bids to construct hotels around the New Delhi airport, plan to infuse Rs 1,000 crore in setting up the hotels with 2,000 rooms capacity.
The hospitality firms, which took possession of the land in the beginning of this month, will set up these hotels in an upcoming Aerocity near the airports. France’s Accor and its Indian partner Interglobe will be building three hotels in the Aerocity. Accor’s first hotel will be under economy hotel brand Ibis that is to be built with an investment of Rs 180 crore with 315 rooms.
Lemon Tree Hotels is likely to invest close to Rs 270 crore to build two hotels with a total of 500 rooms. One of the hotels would be a mid-market hotel under the Lemon Tree brand, while the other would be a budget hotel under Red Fox brand.
Likewise, the Bird Group are expected to pump in Rs 300 crore to construct 230-room hotel under a new five-star hotel brand called Dusit D2 while Asian Hotels India’s promoter Saraf family will also be developing a five-star hotel under the Saraf Hotels brand.
