Hindujas to rope in JV partner for Chennai hospital

The Hinduja Group is likely to induct a partner in its hospital project in Chennai. Currently, the group is looking for a partner and Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH), USA may likely be appointed.

Currently, Hinduja is scouting for land for the proposed venture. According to sources, there is a possibility of the group forming a partnership with a domestic firm, which has land bank at its disposal.

Initially, the group has plans to set up a hospital with a capacity of 250-300 beds to fit into its overall plan of having 5,000 beds across India.

The group has formed a 51:49 JV with Limitless, a Dubai government-owned entity, wherein the group holds 51 per cent stake. The JV is likely to provide a host of services, including medicare services and infrastructure in India and in places like Dubai.
