On 7 August 2009, the Gujarat Government has given its nod for the land transfer to Himalya International for its proposed mega food project in Gujarat.

The company is planning to set up its mega food processing plant in Gujarat at an investment of Rs 130 crore. The newly planned facility is likely to be much bigger than its current facility in Himachal Pradesh and is expected to make value added products for domestic and export markets.

The proposed project is likely to be funded through internal accruals, term loans of Rs 90 crore and warrants issued during 2008.

Work on the project is likely to begin in August 2009 and scheduled to be completed by 2010.
