Arcot Veeraswami, Minister for Electricity, Tamil Nadu on 31 Mar 2009 inaugurated Areva T&D India’s manufacturing unit at Hosur.
The company has invested Rs 117 crore (Euro 18 million) in the facility, which will be manufacturing instrument transformers up to 1,200 kV and condenser bushing. It also houses an instrument transformer competency centre to support high level global research and development.
