According to the Mid-Day, ITC Maratha, Mumbai has come up with an innovative solution to its electricity and power problems: it plans to invest Rs 10 Crore in the set up of four windmills in Satara, Maharashtra. These windmills will provide the property with electricity enabling it to avoid hikes in power/electricity tariffs. Every unit of electricity from the windmills will cost Rs 3.50 as compared to Rs 13 being paid right now.
The property will begin receiving power from the windmills within two months. The large initial investment will be recovered over time as electricity bills will not increase year on year. The hotel will not be dependent on Maharashtra-supplied electricity anymore.
