Bhel wins Rs 7,000 cr orders for main plant

Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd has won orders worth Rs 7,000 crore for supplying main plant equipment to four projects. The orders, envisaging a total capacity of 3,250 mw, were placed by NTPC, NLC Tamil Nadu Power Ltd and Mahagenco (the state power generation company in Maharashtra.)

For NTPC, the public sector engineering giant would work on the 1,000-mw Vindhyachal super thermal power project (Stage IV) in Madhya Pradesh and the 1,000-mw Rihand project (Stage III) in Uttar Pradesh. Mahagenco has placed the order for its 250-mw Parli power project (Stage III) while NTPL has done so for the 2x500-mw Tuticorin coal-fired power project in Tamil Nadu.
