Stone laid for IT building at ‘Infopark’ in Kerala

Kerala Chief Minister, V S Achuthanandan, laid the foundation stone for the new IT building called Athulya at Infopark at Kakkanad near Kochi on 02 February, as part of the second phase of its expansion programme.

The new IT complex with a built up area of 5.5 lakh sq. ft will be opened in 2010. An investment ranging from Rs.500 to Rs.750 crore is expected in developing the infrastructure during this expansion phase.

The master plans for the IT parks at Cherthala and Ambalapuzha in Alappuzha district have also been prepared. The government has already got the SEZ status for these two parks to be developed in 68 acre and 100 acre respectively. A 'Cyber Park' will also be set up in Kozhikode district on the lines of the 'Technopark' in Thiruvananthapuram and 'Infopark' in Kochi.
