The Kerala Government plans to set up 200 small IT parks as an effort to decentralise IT infrastructure in the state.

The first two parks are expected to come up at Kadakkal and Perinad in Kollam district in November 2009.

The small parks will extend the benefits from the larger IT industry to the rural areas of the state. Koratty in Thrissur district, Eramam in Kannur and Cheemeni in Kasaragod have been identified as potential sites for building these parks.
