The Assam Government has offered land to Infosys and Wipro to set up an IT township in Guwahati, after the West Bengal government scrapped an IT park which was to have housed units of the two companies.

The state government has offered 100 acre each to the two companies to set up IT hubs in the city.

The government had already acquired 100 acre and was in the process of acquiring the remaining 100 acre near Lokapriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport.
