Entertainment World to roll out 20 malls

Entertainment World Developers Pvt Ltd (EWDPL) is planning to set up 20 malls across India at an investment of Rs 2,000 crore.

Of the total, Rs 800 crore is expected to be raised by way of private equity and the remaining through debt.

These malls are expected to be spread across one million sq ft in 20 cities by 2011. The proposed malls are likely to be set up under EWDPL's rent-free revenue sharing concept - 'Treasure Showcase' - for emerging brands. The concept is expected to help manufacturers and emerging brands to showcase their products and brands in all its 20 malls. Treasure Showcase is a new mall-in-mall concept under which small retailers are likely to be provided space between 15,000 and 50,000 sq ft per mall.
