Mumbai based Dollex Industries' plan to set up an ethanol plant at Tendukheda in Narsinghpur district of Madhya Pradesh is clouded by uncertainties due to land acquisition problems.
The project has received 'in-principle' clearance from the state Project Clearance and Implementation Board. However, the recent decision of the Narsinghpur district collector not to allocate land to the project as it falls under the forest area has made the project a non-starter. The company had sought 379 ha of land.
The company had signed an MoU with the Madhya Pradesh Government in 2007 to set up three ethanol plants in Tendukheda (Narsinghpur district), Jhabua and Rehli (Sagar district) of the state at an investment of Rs 450 crore. The company is likely to go ahead with the Jhabua project as it has received clearance from the district administration. It is also likely to be allotted the land in Sagar district for its other project. The proposed plants will each have a crushing capacity of 2,500 tpd. These plants will also provide 39 MW to the state electricity board.
