JK Lakshmi Cement has begun commercial production on 11 April 2009 at its plant located in Ahmedabad, Gujarat.
The Rs 100 crore plant has a production capacity of 0.6 million tpa and it will supplement the company's existing plant at Sirohi in Rajasthan to take the total capacity of the company to 5 million tpa.
Apart from this, work on the company's 2.7 million tpa greenfield cement plant at Durg in Chhattisgarh has already been commenced and the plant is slated to be operational by 2011.
