What comes as a shock, but not so unanticipated is Tata’s final decision to exit from West Bengal. The state will no more be the hub to roll out the Nano.

West Bengal will no longer enjoy the pride of rolling out the Nano, the world’s cheapest car from Singur.

Tata Motors chairman Ratan Tata blamed Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee while announcing his decision to pull out of West Bengal on Friday.

Referring to Banerjee’s unyielding opposition, he said, “If someone had put the gun to my head, I would not move away, but I think Banerjee has pulled the trigger.

He said, “‘We have taken the regretful decision to move out of Bengal. I am exceedingly sorry to take such a decision. But we continued to see that there was no change in the situation and we have a timeline to meet.”
