Rieter Automotive sets up plant in Chennai

Rieter Nittoku Automotive Sound Proof Products India, a 59:41 joint venture between Rieter Automotive Systems, a subsidiary of Switzerland-based Rieter Group & Nihon Tokushu Toryo of Japan (Nittoku), inaugurated its new facility at Oragadam near Chennai in Tamil Nadu. The plant was inaugurated by the Deputy Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, M.K. Stalin. The new plant set up at a cost of $15 million, is the fourth facility for Rieter Nittoku joint venture in Asia. Rieter has facilities in 22 countries across the globe – including Japan, China, Thailand and the US.

Rieter Automotive Systems opened its first India plant in 2006, manufactures felt, NVH (Noise Vibration Harshness) and damping parts. The facility, spread over 11 acres produces molded carpets, acoustic dashboard solutions, engine compartment parts and aluminum heatshields
