Hero Motors signs MoU with BRP-Powertrain

Munjals-promoted Hero Motors has signed a five-year MoU Canada-based Bombardier Recreational Products (BRP)-Powertrain for supply of automotive transmissions worth $250 million (approx 1,250 crore) in the next five years.

Hero Motors will manufacture these transmissions at its Ghaziabad facility in Uttar Pradesh with an installed capacity of one lakh units per annum. The company is planning to invest Rs 100 crore in the Ghaziabad facility in the nest five years.

Hero Motors has already invested Rs 45 crore with BRP Powertrain for setting up the manufacturing base for producing transmissions in the last two years.
