Lotte Foods, a flagship company of Korea’s Lotte Confectionery, is investing Rs 200 crore on a greenfield confectionery plant in Tamil Nadu.
The plant spread over 30 acre, is coming up at Nemam village in Tiruvallur district near Chennai. The construction works at the site has begun. The plant, slated to commence production by April 2010, is expected to have an initial capacity to produce 500 tonne of biscuits and gums.
Lotte India has a factory at Nelllikuppam and dedicated sub-contracting units at Kollenchery in Kerala and Sangli and Nashik in Maharashtra.
